Internationally renowned scientists in Strasbourg for the Franco-German Immunology Congress
We were honored to host the joint conference of the Société Française d'Immunologie (SFI) and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Immunologie (DGfI), held at the Palais des Congrès in Strasbourg from September 26 to 29, 2023.
The aim was to highlight the main interests of the immunology groups in Strasbourg, Freiburg and Basel.
Over 4,000 members of the Société Française d'Immunologie (SFI) and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Immunologie (DGfI) took part in the sessions, which were also attended by some 1,000 guests, including basic and translational scientists, as well as German and French clinicians.
At the heart of Strasbourg's Palais des Congrès, the conference served as an incubator for new ideas and exchanges, with the participation of internationally renowned scientists such as Diane Mathis, now based in the USA but who began her career in Strasbourg alongside Pierre Chambon, Christopher Buckley (UK), Chenqi Xu (China) and Sébastian Amigorena (France).
The focus was on cancer immunology.
Through presentation workshops, the congress also aimed to encourage the next generation of researchers. Particular emphasis was placed on the European Federation of Immunology Societies and Young Immunologists, as well as on development and clinical research. Industrialists were also invited to the table to reinforce the scientific and technological impact of this research and progress.
